Harbour Haze runs today in the bumper at Stratford run at 5.35pm.  He is a five-year-old son of Harbour Law and hopefully will show some promise.  He will be ridden by Toby McCain-Mitchell who is a very talented conditional having been a successful amateur rider up until now.

Fighting Poet is declared in the mile and quarter confined handicap tomorrow at Brighton run at 3.45pm with Jim Crowley onboard.  A strong pace would help him and also some easier ground but he appears in good form since his recent pleasing third at the track.   He won the mile and a half contest at the meeting last year but this year’s race looks quite hot and jockeys who have ridden Poet believe a strongly run mile and a quarter suits him better.

It was great to welcome Australian International event rider Bill Levett on Thursday to do some coaching with the staff.  Bill is an excellent teacher and helps both horse and rider by improving the skills of our fine staff.

Thank you to everyone who made our Adlestrop Club cricket match in aid of Racing Welfare in memory of Luke Watson such a success.  Although the Phillips XI were unable to catch the local side’s target of 171 – it was an entertaining afternoon with fantastic weather on a beautiful cricket ground.

It was great to welcome so many Luke’s family and well done to Luke’s nephews Olly and Jack for winning the ‘Mick Barnes Memorial Man of the Match’ trophy.
