Fighting Poet (pictured) is declared in the 3.20pm at Brighton tomorrow in what looks a competitive race for its class.  However, Poet has put up a couple of great performances at the course over the last few weeks and hopefully this race won’t come too soon after his excellent effort last Monday.  Billy Loughnane recommended dropping him back in trip which are we are doing so tomorrow but with Billy unable to ride, we have booked promising apprentice Sean Dylan-Bowen claiming a valuable three pounds.  Hopefully he will put up another good show for the Adlestrop Club.

Thank you to everyone who made our open morning on Saturday for National Racehorse Week such a success.  Over 120 guests enjoyed an insight into a day in the life of a racehorse by viewing the gallops, a schooling session plus interviews and demonstrations from the many people who make their lives so special.

Thanks to some great cake making from a number of owners and some excellent coffee and tea, guests were kept busy throughout the morning with physios, farriers and Ollie McPhail’s ‘Racing to School’ among those interacting with our visitors.

Delighted to welcome the Urban Equestrian Academy to Adlestrop Stables and together with Emilia and Daisy Chesterman-Wright who both rode ponies up the gallops, there was definite evidence of young people enjoying the sport and all that goes with it.

Hopefully National Racehorse Week will continue to promote the incredible dedication, skill and love that goes in to training, re-training and breeding of thoroughbreds.
