A great result at Fontwell on Friday with Bluenose Belle (pictured) winning the two mile handicap hurdle under Finn Lambert. She travelled strongly throughout before idling in front going towards the last but stayed on once challenged on the run in. Delighted for owner Geoff Lansbury who has been so patient with her and hopefully there are more victories to come. She prefers to go right-handed and we will look to follow up with her in early May.
Fontwell has always been a favourite track since childhood and the course was looking in splendid condition and it is always worth a visit.
We have entries for later in the week and at the weekend with Shibuya Song and Mattie Ross in at Huntingdon and Manalishi and Six Blue entered in the bumper at Market Rasen on Sunday. Six Blue also has an entry at Cheltenham on Thursday in the mares bumper and may well take up that engagement.
Congratulations to Rory McIlroy on his brilliant victory last night in the Masters. Many of us went to bed late to watch the ‘must see’ event and any lover of sport would have been transfixed by the rollercoaster ride that the northern Irishman put us on.
Congratulations also to Justin Rose – another popular legend who is an outstanding individual both on and off the course. Golf is definitely not a good walk spoiled when viewing such a tournament.
