Fighting Poet is declared in the 8pm at Southwell tomorrow evening with Rab Havlin onboard.  Hopefully this course will suit him better than Lingfield and he will wear cheek pieces to help him concentrate. He finished his race off well last time and should once again be competitive for the Richard Phillips Racing Syndicate.

We have made entries for the weekend at Uttoxeter and Chepstow for Fine Theatre and Iron Horse over fences. Both horses appear in good form and it will be good to get them on the track now that the rains have come.

It was great to welcome visitors to the yard today on their way to the Cheltenham Festival, including Colin and Gwenda Pocock and the Newports.

Having attended former handicapper Phil Smith’s annual Cheltenham Preview at the Fleece Inn at Bretforton last night, there are certainly plenty of views for the coming days at Prestbury Park.  The rains have certainly changed plenty of opinions but like many in racing, I am hoping Constitution Hill continues to display his brilliance, whilst the mares hurdle should be a race to savour.

Good luck to all and may all return safe and sound.
