We were pleased with Elfride’s performance at Chepstow on Wednesday as she jumped well and travelled behind the leaders up until the straight before getting tired after the second last. Hopefully we will find something suitable for her over hurdles in the coming weeks and she has the option of going over fences this season as well.
Many of the string worked well on Wednesday morning and we are pleased with their progress and look forward to having a few runners towards the end of next week and beyond. It has been well documented how little rain we have had recently which has affected runners but hopefully some safe ground will appear in the coming weeks.
Today it was great to welcome many of the owners of Idas Boy – our Grand National hope for this season. Ridden by the brilliant Vicki Atkins, Idas Boy strutted his stuff up the gallops before doing some impressive flat work in the outdoor school. All are pleased with his progress and it was wonderful to have so many of the syndicate together. We look forward to a lot of fun ahead as we hopefully head to Aintree in April.
