Thanks to the dedication and hard work of our staff, the horses had a very Happy Christmas here in Adlestrop.  Few runners until the New Year but we have Mostly Mozart declared at Southwell on Sunday in the novices stakes over a mile.  He showed promise on his second run when finishing fourth last time out at Wolverhampton and appears in good form at home.  However this is a very competitive event and hopefully the experience will do him the world of good.

It was great to welcome so many owners to the gallops on Saturday for our December gallops get together.  These events have proved to be very popular and it’s great that so many of our owners meet together to discuss all things horses and make new friends.  The staff were very creative in dressing up for the occasion and everyone enjoyed the experience, especially the horses with so many Christmas carrots on offer.

Yesterday’s King George meeting at Kempton certainly lived up to the bill of being a Christmas cracker.  Constitution Hill won emphatically and proved his doubters wrong.  Whilst Ill Est Francais gained many fans with his valiant attempt to make all in the King George.  Under a confident ride by Paul Townend, Banbridge caught him after the last to give Joseph O’Brien yet another varied big race victory.

Sir Gino and Ballyburn take each other on at Kempton today.  The Irish raider looks exceptional however he is not bred to win in such conditions and if he does, he is potentially as good as we have seen for a long time.
