Northhaven did not appear to appreciate the sticky going at Worcester yesterday and looked as though a test of stamina would suit him best.  We will give him another try in a bumper on better ground when hopefully yesterday’s experience will have benefitted him but ultimately it looks like staying handicap hurdles will be his future.

The Last Drop looked destined for third place turning for home in what was a competitive novices handicap but unfortunately she did not finish her race which is a bit of a puzzle as there is no obvious reason for this.  Harry Bannister said he was pleased with her until two out when she found very little and would not put it down to the extra distance, fitness or wind, so we will run a few tests in the hope of finding the reason.  She certainly has the ability to win races and will hopefully come back to form soon.

Mostly Mozart is declared for Windsor tomorrow in the mile and a half handicap run at 6.45pm.  He has had a break which has helped him strengthen further and wears cheek pieces for the first time. Hopefully the step up in trip will suit him on his second run on the turf.   Sean D Bowen takes the ride.

Delighted to attend The Horse Trust in Princes Risborough with the Adlestrop Club today.  Thanks to club member Mike Barrett, a fascinating visit was organised and we learned about the history of the charity and the all the good work they do for the welfare of horses from many backgrounds including the military and the police.  In a beautiful setting, around 130 horses and ponies are given respite and retirement and a visit is highly recommended.
