Hopefully if the ground is safe, we will take Methodtothemagic to Lingfield on Monday, very probably in the three mile handicap chase although she is also entered in the mares chase over two and a half miles.  She ran well on her chasing debut at Leicester and the form is working out well and hopefully she will progress further for the experience.

Ground conditions continue to be on the fast side thanks to lack of rain but hopefully some will appear soon.

Delighted to help raise money for the Injured Jockeys Fund on Wednesday night at the Nook – a roof top restaurant in Cheltenham.  Joined by Jonjo O’Neill, Jim Old, Luke Harvey and Steve Jones, the theme of the evening was Cheltenham memories as we all reminisced about festivals past.  There were plenty of amusing stories and money raised so well done to all.

We are looking forward to our Adlestrop Club Cheltenham Preview evening, which takes place on Monday 6th March in Adlestrop Village Hall.  We have a small number of places available for non-members to come along.  Full details can be viewed HERE.

Yesterday morning Sam Twiston-Davies came in to ride work on Ned Cash (pictured) with his owner, Althea Barclay and Sam’s mother Cathy in attendance.  A son of Blue Bresil, Ned Cash is a likeable sort and will be hopefully be on the course in a bumper in a few weeks time.

Althea has trained and ridden many good horses and gave Sam his first ride in public when she had a permit.  Althea and I went to a lunch afterwards in the memory of Barry Allen, the great haematologist who died recently. We were joined by Charlie Brooks, Sue Nock and Buffy Shirley-Bevan at the Chequers in Churchill as we raised a glass to the remarkable scientist who had such an influence on so many in the sport over so many decades.
