We have entered Organdi at Cartmel on Monday in the hope the ground dries out in the next few days. She appears in good form at home and may well have been in season in her last couple of races but she does need top of the ground to be seen at her best.
We have decided to give Ned Cash a bit of a holiday as there a few opportunities coming up for him at present and there is a break in the jumping calendar in August.
Thank you to the Barrett family for giving The Adlestrop Club a fascinating tour of the Devils Horsemen in Buckinghamshire yesterday. Charlie Barrett has worked for the company as a stunt rider for many years and gave us an intriguing insight into the film, television and advertising world that the company supplies.
From Game Of Thrones to the Lloyds bank advert, they supply horses and carriages from Roman times to the present day. All very much enjoyed this exclusive visit for the Adlestrop Club.
Whatever you may think of Gareth Southgate, he has certainly had a major impact on English football over the past eight years. Although some of his decisions have been controversial and his approach criticised at times, there is no doubt that he has achieved much over his time in charge of the National team.
The way he has conducted himself and treated those around him both close and further afield, is an example to many. Perhaps the sport of horseracing could learn a lot from his attitude, approach and ability to make difficult and unpopular decisions. It will be surprising if people do not look back on his international management career with both respect and appreciation.
