Muthabir was running well until the third last at Ludlow today before being nearly brought down.  He jumped and travelled well up until that point but the ground was probably on the sticky side for him.  Hopefully the handicapper will drop him a pound or two now and he can run in a lower division as today’s race was competitive enough.

It was great to be able to support the Luke Watson Memorial ‘Hands and Heels’ Handicap Chase at Ludlow.  Luke worked for us here at Adlestrop before leaving racing. He sadly passed away in November 2018.  Thanks to the efforts of racecourse commentator David Fitzgerald, today’s race was run in his memory as Luke had been third in the event on his last ride as a jockey.

It was great to see so many of Luke’s family supporting the race today and it showed our sport in a great light.  Once again this year’s Adlestrop Club cricket match will be played in his memory.

Present From Dubai is declared in the 2.50pm at Leicester tomorrow, the two mile handicap hurdle.  He has gone up eight pounds for his victory at Uttoxeter but appears in good form and we are hopeful of a good run.  There is an inspection at the track in the morning but hopefully racing will go ahead.
