A beautiful warm day in Adlestrop and we are gradually able to turn a few more horses out.

All at Adlestrop Stables are rightly proud of making sure that our retired racehorses have a good life once leaving racing.  Heros, the rehabilitation centre near Lambourn run by Grace Muir, have re-homed quite a few for us.

Once such is Crystal Swing who won over hurdles and fences for us and was owned by the Enjoy The Journey syndicate headed by our yard sponsors Martin and Sue Harvey.  He was always a fine looking horse and a great character and we were delighted that he was rehomed by Chris Harris.  Chris is currently working from home and is hacking him out and says that he is the perfect horse for him.  It’s always good to hear.

Another syndicate headed by our yard sponsors, The Irish Experience had Our Project.  He was a fine beast but unfortunately he never stopped growing and unlike the syndicate’s other horse, Seaviper who won four races – Our Project did not reach the racecourse.

He has been re-homed to Jill Young who despite these difficult times is able to ride him every day and loves him to bits.

Heros do an excellent job of not only re-homing but keeping in touch with the people they are re-homed to.  This is obviously a great way to ensure that should the new owners need some help, they are only a phone call away.
