Picanha is declared in the 3.30pm at Ludlow tomorrow – a novices handicap hurdle over two miles five. Ultimately he will need a bit further than this but on previous form he should be competitive, although there are decent opposition in this six runner event.
Having won at Warwick, he was hampered on his last run at Cheltenham and this race will give him more experience as we look forward to his chasing career next season.
Both Mattie Ross and Shadow Walker are entered on Sunday and Monday and both worked and schooled this morning. Hopefully they look on course to run. This will be Mattie’s hurdling debut following her bumper win last summer, whilst Shadow Walker will hopefully have a handicap mark after this outing.
It was great to welcome owner Dave Mahon to the gallops this morning to see both Rossbeigh Strand and our five-year-old Sageburg gelding in action. Dave has a share in both horses and was the first to view the Sageburg when we purchased him from Doncaster sales. We are both delighted with his progress as we look forward to him making his bumper debut in the spring. There is still one share available so please do come and view him if you may be interested in this exciting prospect. Full details HERE.
