Wednesday 25th January

Today I attended Doncaster Sales catching up with several owners, including Sue Welch, Brian Duckett and Ben Halsall.

Along with Sue and Brian, I have a share in broodmare Giovanna, who had a filly foal by Kayf Tara at the sales.  She was bought by Irish bloodstock agent Gerry Hogan.  We have her four-year-old full sister here at Adlestrop and look forward to getting her on the track next season.

Also viewed a few of Britain’s best National Hunt stallions, including Blue Bresil, Telescope, Scorpion and new to the stallion ranks, son of Kings Theatre – Clovis Du Berlais.

Kayf Tara colts were all the rage today and the market at the top end was very strong as ever.

Pleased to report Master Vintage is fine this morning after his excellent victory at Leicester yesterday.  Many thanks for all the messages, it was a great team effort.   Let’s hope he progresses from this victory.

With a new meeting put on at Taunton on Friday, our weekend plans may change slightly but looking forward to runners at the weekend on ground that should suit.
