With very little prospect of rain, we continue to tick over the string while we await opportunities and we have several pencilled in for early May.  Hopefully the watering systems are on full blast.

I enjoyed watching yesterday’s Epsom meeting with the Blue Riband, City & Suburban and the Great Met all bringing back memories of my childhood when there were perhaps more significant targets.  However Wirko, the winner of the Blue Riband looks Derby bound for the very much in-form Charlie Appleby yard and will doubtedly benefit from racecourse experience.

Very much enjoyed the specialist Grand National round on Mastermind this week.  I failed on one involving the running on the race in the 1920’s but other than that, they were not that difficult for racing anoraks.  I would enter the competition if it wasn’t for the general knowledge round and I’m sure plenty of others would say the same.
