Not many to work this morning but Danny Hiskett came in to participate.  The rains have certainly come, typically just when you don’t want them with an entry on Stratford on Sunday.

Made a visit to Fernham Farm yesterday to see a few sales horses entered for Doncaster next week and some classy mares and foals.  A great set up and I was kindly treated to lunch by owner Gary Davies afterwards.

The ground at York today was definitely on the soft side, with all winners having shown form with give in the ground.  Hardly the ideal ground for Classic trials but Shutter Speed won the Musidora nicely and the Dante will hopefully shed more light on the confusing Derby picture tomorrow.

A happy retirement to the brilliant Annie Power, one of the best mares we have seen for some time, who retires to the paddocks in foal to Camelot.  She was a brilliant Champion Hurdle winner, so nearly a Stayers Hurdler winner and a very unlucky loser of the Cheltenham mares race.
