Very disappointing that Newton Abbot has been called off today due to biblical rain, shocking the clerk of the course in the process. We were very much looking forward to running both Present From Dubai and Pop Mistress and we will now have to look elsewhere.
It was great to welcome Sally Randall to the yard yesterday bringing along the British Racing School’s training simulator – part of ‘training for racing’ kindly funded by the Racing Foundation. It is a great initiative and the staff get great benefits from this continued professional development with Hannah, Willow and Tash all very much enjoying the experience.
Delighted that National Racehorse Week has been announced today. It will take place from the 12th – 19th September this year. Developed from an idea I wrote about in the Racing Post at the end of 2019 – much great work has been done since to make it a reality.
On the 12th September, hopefully as many yards as possible will be open to the public to witness the racehorse in it’s home environment including Malton and Epsom Open days.
Whilst on the 19th September, Newmarket will hold their Henry Cecil Open Weekend and Middleham will hold theirs. During the week will be an opportunity to showcase the wonderful symbiotic relationship that horses and humans have. It will be very much up to individual stables to do whatever they see fit to celebrate the occasion and we look forward to ensuring Adlestrop Stables participates as fully as possible.
