A bright, bracing morning on the gallops shared with Christine Archer and guests for a charity morning on the gallops purchased in aid of fantastic local charity, Shipston Home Nursing.

The horses worked and looked well in the sunshine and this morning we made an entry for Timetobenefit at Taunton on Tuesday.

It was great to welcome Vanessa and Rupert Fairfax of Fairfax saddles.  They have done much research on racing tack.  Our physio Maggie Turner, was keen for us to help the Adlestrop Club’s Master Vintage who won a Fairfax sponsored race at Huntingdon in November.

Master Vintage has had a kissing spine operation on the past and we hope that this new scientifically proven saddle will be of benefit to him.

Last night I attending the West Berkshire Racing Club annual racing quiz which is always an enjoyable affair.  With AP McCoy stuck on the M6 on the way back from the Grand National weights, Michael Caulfield took his place along with John Hanmer and Gordon Clarkson.

All was going well until the final round, when we were only one point off the eventual winners. However the pedigree round did not go well and the rest of my team were unable to even name their parents, never mind a flat stallion.  As ever, a great fun night and we raised some money for the IJF in the process.
