Two runners at Ludlow

Two runners at Ludlow today with Timetobenefit and Present From Dubai.  The former has shown promise in novice hurdles but realistically will be best when in a handicap.  Hopefully she will continue to show promise today over the same conditions she ran over last time.

Present From Dubai was purchased at the May sales at Doncaster and has shown potential in two point to points in Ireland.  The form of both races has worked out well and hopefully he will show some promise today in the mile and three quarter bumper.  However it looks at hot contest as several bumpers have been called off recently and all trainers are looking for some favourable ground.

Yesterday I attended Peter Walwyn’s memorial service in Lambourn.  The church was packed to say goodbye to one of racing’s most popular characters.  Mark Smyly did an excellent job in his tribute to his former boss and there were many amusing stories told at the Walwyn Hall after the service.
