Two runners at Towcester tomorrow

Two runners at Towcester tomorrow with both trying to follow up recent successes.

Totterdown takes on some useful types in the two mile National Hunt novice hurdle.  Hopefully he is gradually learning to settle and hopefully the ground won’t be too soft but the forecast looks pretty wet.  He slopped through the ground at Hereford and hopefully there won’t be sticky conditions tomorrow.  Once again Danny Hiskett rides.

Bertie Barnes would also not want conditions too testing but he carries top weight in the two mile five handicap hurdle.  Tom Bellamy renews the partnership and it would be great if he could continue to give The Aspirationals some more excitement although things will definitely be tougher this time.

Colin Pocock came to visit this morning to see his four-year-old Stowaway gelding do some faster work and some schooling. He has shown definite promise and will now have a summer holiday before coming back to us next season.

Once again remarkable racing at Punchestown yesterday with W Mullins having six winners in a row to take the lead in the Irish Trainers Championship.

Bellshill looks like a Gold Cup candidate in what is an extraordinary team of horses.
