Two runners at Huntingdon

Off to Kempton to saddle Golden Deal in the 6.40pm.  It is a competitive race and I am sure she will be better off in nurseries.  It will be interesting to see how she copes with the all-weather surface as she is a good moving filly who has run with give in the ground on her two previous starts.

Arctic Chief and Brave Helios are declared for Huntingdon tomorrow.  We have been looking for good ground for both horses and hopefully conditions will suit.

Arctic Chief (pictured) showed promise in bumpers but has had his problems – hopefully we have ironed them out and he can get back to form.  Ian Popham rides.

Brave Helios returns to hurdles and the race is a step up in class for him but there is very little else to run him in at present.  He has shown good form over the summer and let us hope he appreciates having less weight on his back with Danny Hiskett taking off a valuable five pounds.

It was good to welcome Melissa Chesterman and friends to the gallops this morning.  Melissa has done a lot of work with Totterdown, who was with us at the end of last season and showed promise in his homework.  Having had a summers rest, hopefully he will be appearing in a bumper in the next few weeks before going novice hurdling.
