Mattie Ross made a very pleasing hurdling debut on Sunday at Huntingdon. A bit keen early on she jumped very well finishing third, beaten by just over two lengths by the winner. She looks as though she will make a useful three mile chaser in the future and we look forward to finding another race for her in a few weeks time.
Shadow Walker has had his problems in the past so it was good to see him run with a bit more promise yesterday at Southwell, under promising conditional, Finn Lambert. Jumping well on the whole and a bit keen, he would benefit from a step up in trip in handicap company and hopefully will eventually reward the patience of his enthusiastic owner, Colin Pocock.
Thank you to everyone who supported the Adlestrop Club Cheltenham Preview last night. The event was a sell out and hopefully the excellent panel of Alice Plunkett, Luke Harvey, Johnny Burke and Tom Bellamy will have steered the audience in the right direction for next week.
Among the fancies from the panel last night were:
- Langer Dan
- Good Time Jonny
- Beacon Edge
- Alaphilippe
- State Man
- Coeur Sublime
The panel’s charity bets are:
- Alice Plunkett – Coeur Sublime
- Luke Harvey – Good Risk At All
- Tom Bellamy – Constitution Hill
- Johnny Burke – Dunboyne
- Richard Phillips – Edwardstone
Hopefully there will be some winners amongst them and raise even more money for last night’s charities, Heros, Women’s Aid, Ukraine appeal.
