A very rainy Adlestrop which is scuppering the ground conditions on the racecourses.  We have two runners at Uttoxeter tomorrow, Minella Whisper and Brave Helios.  The ground is good on the hurdle course and hopefully they won’t get any more rain.

Minella Whisper is a fine, big six-year-old Irish point to point winner and a full brother to the useful Premier Bond.  He makes his debut for us and his owner Lizzie Prowting, in the three mile National Hunt novice hurdle.  We have been happy with him at home and we look forward to him showing some promise.

Brave Helios runs in the three mile handicap hurdle with Danny Hiskett taking off five pounds.  Danny has won and been placed on him many times.  Brave Helios will wear a tongue strap and cheek pieces – hopefully this combination will bring about an improvement in form.

Managed to get thoroughly wet yesterday afternoon at the Keith Adams Memorial charity golf day at Wragg Barn Golf Club.  Run by the Southern Racing Golfing Society, it was a well supported day and raised valuable money for Cancer Research.

Sadly Keith died last year of the dreaded disease, having been landlord of the White Horse at Woolstone.  The society are a group of proper racing folk including owners, trainers, jockeys and head lads and it was the thought that Keith would have loved to have joined us for golf in the pouring rain that kept us going.
