Keep It Brief is declared in the 8pm at Kempton tomorrow.  He is twice a course and distance winner but having gone up in the handicap things will be harder for him.

James Doyle once again takes the ride having won on him recently.  Keep It Brief appears to like the all-weather and bit of cut in the ground and hopefully he will put up another good show for owner Ed Ware.

Well done to the British Eventing team on a brilliant Gold medal in Tokyo.  Especially well done to Tom McEwen for achieving an individual Silver.  I have known Tom’s parents for many years and employed a few of his family as well.

It was wonderful to see Andrew Hoy get a Bronze medal in his eighth Olympics.  Andrew schooled some of my horses early on in my career including a horse called Gnomes Tycoon.  The horse could make the odd howler and watching Andrew ride was always a pleasure – he would have made some jump jockey had he wanted to go down that route.

I had a great afternoon yesterday at the Kings Head in Bledington.  Owner and oldest friend Jon Dadswell, kindly purchased a sporting lunch at our last Question of Sport in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.  The lunch was to include some of the team captains and Jeff Stelling, Mark Pougatch, John Inverdale and John Francome joined us.

Playing nine holes of golf at Wychwood beforehand, we all had a splendid day for a great cause and we were joined for a memorable lunch by Alastair Down and Warren Marston.

Many thanks to Archie Orr-Ewing for donating the lunch and thank you to Jon Dadswell for his generosity.
