Tuesday 31st January

Schooled Sheelbewhatsheelbe this morning in preparation for her hurdling debut, possibly on Sunday at Taunton.   Owner Brian Duckett was in attendance to watch her under Danny Hiskett.

Hannah Bishop rode out Coyaba and Desert Joe.  Hannah is due to ride the latter in the Greatwood Charity Race at Newbury on 4th March.

Pricewise today goes for the Arkle, where he tips Malcolm Jefferson’s Cloudy Dream at 25-1 each way.  Admittedly that looks a bit of value.   However, I’ve always thought Some Plan was a decent horse ever since I saw him win a novice hurdle and he seems to be getting his act together.  At 25-1, he also looks good each way value.

Melon is now the new favourite for the Supreme Novice Hurdle following his impressive victory at the weekend.  However I think 25-1 about Elgin who won on Boxing Day at Kempton and was a good second to Neon Wolf at Haydock on unsuitable ground recently, is value.

On the subject of Cheltenham, if you have not booked your places for our Cheltenham Preview on 6th March, please do so as soon as possible as tickets are selling fast.
