A wet but enjoyable work morning and delighted to be joined by Molly Armytage – daughter of Marcus.  Molly has ridden a couple of winners pony racing and been gaining experience around various yards in Britain as she contemplates a career in racing.

Pleased to report she is far more stylish and braver than her father, who looked on and we look forward to her returning again soon.

Very relieved to see that star apprentice, Saffie Osborne – daughter of Jamie, escaped serious injury at Windsor on Monday.  Having watched the fall on tv, I feared the outcome may have been more serious but hopefully she will be fine to give it a real go at the apprentice championships next season.

Saffie is an excellent rider and has had much success eventing Internationally.  I am sure she will have a great career ahead of her as we welcome more and more female riders at the top of our sport, which can only be good for all.

Also on Monday at Windsor Waters Edge owned by the Carbine of London syndicate, won his third race from his last four runs.  Brilliantly handled by George Baker and his team, he has give the syndicate much fun over the last few months and we look forward to Islandray doing the same.   Our six-year-old ran very well in novice hurdles last year and looks very much a potential novice chaser and we look forward to continuing the syndicate’s success this season.

Congratulations to Mehmas – the record breaking first season sire who has had an incredible start to his career.  This son of Acclamation was a very decent two-year-old and I was always a fan since his debut and it will be interesting to see how his offspring get on in their three-year-old careers.
