The sunshine means we can turn out a few more horses here in Adlestrop.  The horses are blissfully unaware of what is going on around them in the world and many are enjoying the spring grass and blue skies.

We are keeping a few on the go who are either coming back from injury or who tend to put on too many pounds when on their holidays.

Racing continues to prepare for a return to action behind closed doors, waiting for the Government to give it the okay.  The timing of the return will have to be a subtle and diplomatic one and surely some way of raising money for the NHS should be part of racing’s charm offensive.

We like to keep everyone updated on the lives of the horses who used to be at Adlestrop Stables.   Penshurst Lad (pictured) was a good moving son of Bertolini who was purchased at the Newmarket yearling sales.  He showed early promise but lacked a bit of competitive desire and his owners, yard sponsors Martin and Sue Harvey decided to re-home him.

He has continued to enjoy life following racing.  Now called Casper and owned by Victoria Johnson, they did some sponsored rides and ROR camps along with a bit of showjumping.  They are now doing dressage under the supervision of Grand Prix rider Joe Bright.

Based near the coast, they enjoying riding on the beach at Camber Sands where he enjoys pretending to be a racehorse again.  He’s a lucky boy and thank you to Victoria for giving him such a wonderful and varied home.
