The beautiful weather returns and the horses coats look fantastic in the sun as the majority of the string continue their holiday.  Among those still being exercised are Picanha and Mighty Elsa.  Picanha is a very promising bumper winner owned by Lizzie Prowting and he is on his way back from injury having had a stress fracture in the spring.  His rehabilitation is going very well and we look forward to him realising his great potential over the next few seasons.

Mighty Elsa (pictured) has always carried a lot of condition and therefore her holidays include her having an hour in the gym before she goes out to munch grass.

As with many in racing, our owners have been fantastic over these difficult times and their main concern is the welfare of their horses and our staff.

It should not be forgotten whilst we raise monies for all our fantastic workers within the industry, that there would not be one without the wonderfully resilient British owner, whether big or small.

With it being Mental Health Awareness Week, all at Adlestrop Stables like many others take this issue very seriously.  Racing is very lucky in that it has great support for anyone with issues, thanks to Racing Welfare.  The charity put on Mental Health First Aid courses, especially for racing staff and pleased to report that our senior staff have attended them.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Kim Gingell.  Daughter of Colin and Pauline Tizzard and sister to Joe, she was an integral part of the incredible rise of the racing family to the very top of National Hunt racing.  A great horse woman, she was widely respected and our deepest sympathies go to all her family and friends.
