Iron Horse travelled and jumped well to the straight yesterday on ground that would not have suited him but hopefully he will have gained a bit more confidence over fences with this run.  We look forward to dropping him back in trip on some better ground.

Tulane appeared to dislike the Southwell surface and never travelled at all during the race.  Luke Morris looked after him and hopefully he will get back to form on other all-weather surfaces.

Off to Huntingdon today with Lady Of Authority (pictured) who runs in her first handicap over hurdles.  She appears in good form at home and let us hope she can show her flat form in the jumping discipline.

Very much enjoyed Breeders Cup night and had a Zoom evening with owners Rick Allen, Charlie Allan and Hannah Lewis-Jones.  It was great that trainer Tom Gretton could also join us and delighted that thanks to the results, I won a few quid having backed Nick Roberts to win our flat season tipping competition, The Apistles.

The highlight of the night included Dermot Weld’s brilliant mare Tarnawa and great to see the Fanshaw’s win with their first runner at the meeting. I have known James for many a decade and he is one of racing’s top people and there would be no more popular success.
