Tuesday 10th January

Delighted to welcome Jenny Stowell and Tot Calver to the gallops this morning who came to see Danny do some schooling.  With some frosts forecast, we thought we would take advantage of the mild weather.  Hopefully we will have some runners Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Festival Pricewise in the Racing Post today and Tom Segal goes for Superb Story as a 25-1 shot, who could run into a place in the Champion Hurdle.  The picture is unclear with not having seen Faugheen or Annie Power this season and of course either of these former winners would take a lot of beating.

If they turn up you are only looking for a horse for place money. This is a funny old game and they don’t always get back and if they don’t turn up on the day, Yanworth and Petit Mouchoir look like the young pretenders who could take the crown.

Yanworth is a 5-1 shot and will definitely be staying on up the hill, whilst Petit Mouchoir was most impressive in Ireland although he beat Nichols Canyon who was running over a trip short of his best.  At 8-1, he looks an improved performer and is still each way value.
