Frosty mornings in Adlestrop but hopefully the weather will improve enough for our runners next week, with entries on Monday and Wednesday.
Thank you for all the kind messages re Team Adlestrop’s amazing achievement of having three members in the final for this year’s Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards.
Both Jo and Faisal are worthy finalists, whilst personally it is humbling to be recognised in the Community award for doing something that gives me such great pleasure.
In these difficult times, it is always good to have something to look forward to and I enjoyed perusing the entries for this year’s Cheltenham Gold Cup.
In order to be one step ahead of Pricewise, I think A Plus Tard is a very possible winner at 12-1. He has had great form over shorter trips but since stepping up to three miles he has shown even more improvement and looks to have the class to go all the way to the top.
Each way bets include Melon, who has been placed in a Champion Hurdle and again looks to have stepped up his chasing form with an increased trip. Presenting Percy was disappointing last time out but the Elliot yard have not been in form and a few quid each way at 33s would not be the most stupid move.
Whilst last year’s fourth Monalee at 66-1 was only beaten a couple of lengths. Let’s hope the Irish are able to come over and challenge for what looks potentially a fascinating race.
