A work morning yesterday for some of the string who will hopefully be having a run in a few weeks time. The others are building up their fitness for an autumn campaign as most of the string have now come back in from their holidays. It has been a good summer for them and they are all looking big and well.
One of our new additions to the yard, Islandray – is owned by the Carbine Club and I was delighted to attend their sporting lunch in the Long Room at Lords yesterday, along with owners Chris Newport, Bob Scott and Mick Mariscotti.
The Club is a sporting one and a mix of Brits and Antipodeans who love cricket and racing among other recreations.
Steve Harmison and Jason Gillespie gave us a great insight into playing in an Ashes test and it was good to catch up with so many owners in attendance.
