Weighed in, weighed in Thursday

Golden Deal was not beaten that far in the maiden at Lingfield yesterday.  However, Oisin Murphy reported that they raced from someway out and he thought she was on the weak side.  She definitely has the make and shape of a three-year-old and the rain softened ground would not have helped.

We will probably drop her back in trip for her next outing and we may have to go on the all-weather if the ground softens further.  I am sure she will be a horse to follow for next season.

The horses all get weighed on Thursdays and it’s interesting to see the horses gradually stripping fitter with the step up in work.

Muthabir is entered for Uttoxeter next week as we are keen to get him out on his favoured ground.

Sad to read the news of the death of Glenn Swire.  He had shares in horses with us in the past and was a steward at Brighton.  A charming man, passionate about his racing and full of wonderful opinions, he will be a man I will always fondly remember.
