Off to Southwell today to saddle Madame Ritz in the 5.10pm. Hopefully the straight five furlongs will suit her with Joe Fanning onboard.
An easy morning for most of the string having had a Wednesday work day and Tuesday schooling session. Tom Bellamy came to help Danny Hiskett school many of the horses and all went well.
Hopefully it’s not long now before we get some more of the jumping string out and about on the track. The rain is still about but hopefully not too much at Wincanton on Saturday or Kempton on Monday where Organdi is entered. She really needs decent ground to be at her best so we are on weather watch.
As you will know, we take great pride at Adlestrop Stables in the welfare of our horses during and after their careers. We were sad to hear the recent news of the passing of two of our old favourites.
Arctic Chief was not long into his retirement in Pembrokeshire, when unfortunately due to a kick in the field, he had to be put down recently. He was a lovely character and had a great life but deserved a longer retirement.
Ballykelly also recently passed away and had had a long and happy retirement thanks to Anya Dawson. He won a bumper and over hurdles for us and was a real gentlemen much loved by many.
