A morning of cantering after a good work day yesterday. It was great to be welcoming people to walk up the gallops and social distance. All have commented what a very nice office I have at the top of our hill, looking out over Stow-on-the-Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh.
Visitors yesterday included Charlie Allan with his partner Trish, Charlotte Bird, Jon Dadswell and Robin Kirkland.
Enjoyed reading the Racing Post article on Barry Hill’s betting exploits which enabled him to start his training career. Thanks to Frankincense victory in the Lincoln, the Hills dynasty has been built.
Barry is an extraordinary man who very much embodies the strengths you need to survive the racing game. Thankfully he has passed on many of these to his offspring.
Great news that ITV have extended their contract to show racing on terrestrial television. This is so important for the sport as it is a vital rural industry. The ITV team do a great job of entertaining the racing and general public and we look forward to them continuing to showcase all that is good about British racing over the coming years.
