With no rain at Stratford, both Brave Helios and Beautiful People take their chances today. Brave Helios is better handicapped over fences than hurdles and having schooled well over the weekend, hopefully he will put up a good performance – although the trip may be a bit on the short side for him these days.
Beautiful People will have her first run since her soft palate operation and let’s hope it has a positive effect as she certainly has the ability to be in the money today.
As ever, it was great to catch up with so many owners at the Goodwood Festival. I can’t remember there ever being so much rain on a racecourse in one day.
Great to be a guest of owner Chris Humber at the Goodwood Ball. I was sat next to Hugo Palmer and it was great to catch up with him and reminisce of when we first met when I spoke at the Rous Society at Eton some years ago.
All enjoyed dancing to Heather Small of M People after dinner and the ITV Racing team were in particularly good form strutting their stuff.
This morning’s annual crazy golf championship at Littlehampton went once again to owner Charlie Allan, who ran away with the claret mug, beating his trainer going down the last.
This year’s event took place on the new course and there was shock amongst the group to find that our favourite old course has been dug up and is now a pile of concrete.
Immense disappointment that this piece of history has gone.
