Yet another beautiful morning and great to share it with Adlestrop Club member Mike Barrett.  Mike has been a great supporter of the yard for many years and it was great to catch up as we saw the string exercising in the sun.  Mike is pretty nifty with his camera and always takes a good photo, as per attached.

Returned from Doncaster sales with two three-year-olds, sons of Sageburg and Dylan Thomas.  I think both are great value and we look forward to finding owners for them soon.

Always great to catch up with everyone at the sales, especially my mentors Harvey Smith and Mick Easterby.  The market was very strong considering the circumstances but hopefully we got a bit of value.  Much comment was made on the reduction in my weight and you know you’ve lost a few pounds when AP McCoy says to you “you don’t need to lose any more.”

I’ve been enjoying watching Goodwood from the sales and we are all delighted to see Mohaather win the Sussex Stakes.  Readers of this blog will know I’m a fan of the horse and have predicted for a while he would be a Group One performer and he was a worthy winner yesterday.

Extremely pleased for trainer Marcus Tregoning who is one of life’s good guys and an excellent trainer, showing once again that given a good one he will campaign it in the style of his old master Major Hern.

Much enjoyed watching ITV’s programme on The Princess Royal last night.  It was a wonderful opportunity to highlight what a remarkable individual she is and what huge asset she is not only to the Royal Family but also to the country.  Great leaders lead by example and she is a perfect one.
