We have declared J Gaye at Kempton on Saturday in the 7.15pm, a mile and a half handicap. She has been runner up on her last two runs and annoyingly the handicapper keeps on putting her up as her form has been franked. Luke Morris rides and hopefully the track will suit. She certainly deserves to get her head in front as she has been so consistent in her races.
Off to Chelmsford later today to saddle Highland Sun in the 8pm. It will be her first run in a handicap and she wears a tongue tie for the first time. She has always gone nicely at home and hopefully Dougie Costello will be about tell us a bit more about her.
Over Stated like many at Leicester yesterday, did not like the very heavy sticky ground. He moved into contention two out before tiring into fifth and as he won his point to point on decent going, I am sure he will improve for such conditions in the spring.
For anyone of my era, the passing of Nicholas Parsons was a significant moment. For over half a century he entertained like minded audiences on both television and radio. He was a friend of many of the cleverest and funniest people in Britain and was an example to all with his remarkable wit, energy and professionalism right up to his mid nineties.
