Happy 100th Birthday to Colonel Tom Moore.  An honorary promotion that is so well deserved having raised so much money in these terrible times. He is a perfect example of how dreadful situations can bring out the best in people.

Someone who is way off that age and is yet to be honoured is Cornelius Lysaght.  He ends his thirty year career at the BBC today having been Radio 5’s trusted voice for racing for over three fascinating decades.

Cornelius has been a great supporter of The Adlestrop Club for many years, including attending our annual Question of Sport.  Being the guy he is, he has also joined our ‘Race Against Prostate Cancer’ syndicate along with his great pal Mark Pougatch and we look forward to them and the rest of the syndicate having some fun and success and bringing much needed attention to the dreadful disease.

A natural communicator, with a nose for the important and a great sense of humour for the not so, we look forward to Cornelius continuing to inform and entertain us in the decades to come.

The rains have certainly come to Adlestrop and I am sure the countryside will benefit over the weeks to come for God’s watering.  Some of the horses look as though they enjoy a certain Flanders and Swann song today, however above is a photo of three mares earlier in the week having sweet dreams.
