Pretty hot in Adlestrop but all the horses were exercised and appreciated their cold showers.

Off to Newbury today for the 8.40pm where J Gaye runs in her first handicap.  She is stepping up to a mile and a half for the first time and has shown promise on each of her three runs.  David Probert who is riding plenty of winners takes the ride.  Let us hope she copes with the high temperatures and continues to progress.

Looking forward to this year’s Adlestrop Club Charity Cricket Match on Sunday 25th August.  Playing the local side, it will be a Phillips XI trying to retain the Adlestrop Ashes.  It is always a fun event and as many as people as possible can make it.

This year we are raising money for Racing Welfare in memory of former employee Luke Watson who sadly passed away last year.

The cricket club now has cash bar so there’s no excuse not to enjoy yourself despite the standard of cricket.  Play starts at 2pm.
