Delighted with Pop Mistress’s impressive debut at Southwell last night. Settling well at the back of the field, she made smooth headway into the straight before showing an excellent turn of foot to win the race in great style.

So pleased for her very patient owners, including breeders Bob and Pauline Scott who were able to attend and collect the trophy.  The Goodwood Owners Drinks Session, was formed following a visit by myself and Mick Barnes to Bob and Pauline’s stud a few years ago, when Pop Mistress took the eye as a youngster.

She has been quite free in her work in the past, and great credit must be given to Danny Hiskett who rides her every day and has done a wonderful job of settling her.  We look forward to plenty of fun ahead.

J Gaye was not beaten far on her debut in the mares novice hurdle and made a mistake at the third which did not help her cause.  However she stayed on well after the last and would be suited by a further step up in trip for her next appearance and continues to be in the first four in all of her races for us.

Delighted to make two new purchases at the sales yesterday with Fine Theatre and Corrany.  Hopefully we will be sending out details of their syndication shortly but both chasers look like giving the yard plenty of winning chances this coming season.
