A quiet morning for the string following yesterday’s work morning.  Light on the runners front next week but hopefully it won’t be too long before we increase the runners in November.

Delighted to attend the Animal Health Trust Awards in London last night as a guest of Bunny Roberts.  Always a great evening for a great cause, with the charity’s President, The Princess Royal in attendance.

Congratulations to all the award winners, especially F Dettori who deservedly won the racing award for his fantastic year.  I am sure all the horses he rides would agree.

As ever he said a few choice words about the sport and his beloved Enable.  All in racing very much look forwrd to her increasing her stardom next season.

Today’s horse profiles for your Five to Follow entries are:

Madame Ritz

Madame Ritz won for us at Wolverhampton as a three-year-old showing promise and speed.  However unfortunately she suffered a pastern fracture which meant she had much of last year off.  She’s had a few niggles but now looks on a competitive handicap mark and will be running on the all-weather for us over the winter, which is a time of year that appears to suit her.  We will shortly be trying her right-handed and she could possibly step up to seven furlongs in the future.

Master Vintage

Master Vintage has won over hurdles for us and started his chasing career well.  However he is a hard-pulling type who needs to settle in his races.  He is now down to a useful handicap mark and two and a half miles plus with a bit of cut in the ground appears to suit him well and he deserves to get his head in front over fences soon.

Methodtothemagic (pictured)

Methodtothemagic was purchased at the May Doncaster sales having been placed in two point to points.  Since purchasing her, her half brother has won a bumper and a maiden hurdle and this daughter of Sans Frontiere has done nothing but strengthen and grow over the summer.  She will start off in bumpers before going novice hurdling.  Ultimately she looks as though she will need a trip and goes nicely at home.
