Snappy dresser Barnes on the gallops… that’s twice this year!

Pleased with Muthabir’s run at Uttoxeter yesterday.  He travelled strongly into the straight before the weight told on him from two out.  Richard Johnson did apologise for jumping across Muthabir at the last but all in all, a pleasing run back from a break.  I am sure if the handicapper gives him a chance, he will be winning once again for The Adlestrop Experience.

Tulane is declared for Salisbury tomorrow in the 4.25pm.  The ground conditions should suit as he ran well at Leicester in soft conditions on his previous start.  Once again Timmy Murphy takes the ride and hopefully Tulane will appreciate the extra furlong.  The race looks competitive on paper but we are hopeful of him continuing to show promise.

It was great to welcome Mick Barnes to the gallops again this morning.  That’s twice in the same year.  It must be autumn as he was wearing his favourite pink jumper. He had a touch of the Lichfields about him this morning as he took photographs of Bertie Barnes.  Like all the greats, he still prefers to use film.
