Thurday 9th February 2017

Off to Huntingdon today to saddle Next Lot and Speed Demon.  Hopefully it will be some of the best ground around at present, as neither like it too soft.  New headgear on both which hopefully will bring about some improvement.

We have declared Bertie Barnes for Kempton tomorrow in the 2 mile 5 handicap hurdle.  Ideally he would want better ground and further but hopefully he will gain from the experience and Ian Popham rides.

It was good to welcome owners Richard and Liz Atkinson to see Bertie Barnes on the gallops this morning and also Melissa Chesterman and family to see Totterdown.

I’m not normally a watcher of Come Dine With Me but did last night as Craig Brown was appearing.  We have known Craig for some time as he was the landlord of The Plough at Ford for many years.  He is also an ex member of the Household Calvary  and Cheese Rolling Champion and his eccentricity has always entertained and amused.  Fortunately this came across very well on tv yesterday.  Being an excellent cook with high standards, he cantered home for an easy victory against his opponents.
