Spring is in the air!

Dare I say, spring was in the air at Adlestrop this morning.  Danny Hiskett was in to ride work on a few of next week’s entries as we hope that the forecast rains stay away.

We are also building up the team of our summer jump team for this year, which will include Western Storm, Beautiful People and Brave Helios.  All three appreciate better ground and the latter two have shares available in them, so please be in touch if you fancy a summer full of fun.

It was good to get some of the flat string working as well, who are looking forward to some sun on their backs and some spring ground.

With the flat turf season beginning at the weekend, I am preparing my list of horses to follow for the various competitions that I enter.  I was interested to see Pricewise select Elarqam for the 2000 Guineas.  By Frankel out of Attraction, he is bred to win the race but I am looking elsewhere.

The favourite, Saxon Warrior apparently has thrived over the winter and Ryan Moore is very keen on him.  However I think Roaring Lion could well have beaten him in the Racing Post, had he delayed his challenge.

The most eye catching performance of last year’s juveniles was that of Expert Eye at Goodwood.  He boiled over in the Dewhurst but should Sir Michael keep a lid on him, he looks good enough.

Both he and Roaring Lion are 10-1 shots and look each way value to me.
