Schooling Morning

We had a really good frosty and foggy schooling morning today, in preparation for raiding both Taunton and Warwick later in the week.

It was great to welcome Hannah, Toby and Noah Bishop to watch the Prowting string in action.

Great to chat to Andrew Thornton yesterday and congratulate him on his thousandth winner.  Better known to us as ‘Lensio’ he has been a great competitor for many years and whatever the sport, gives his all.

We said goodbye to Channel Four Racing yesterday and whatever your views on their production, they have undoubtedly made a huge contribution to racing.  It will be fascinating to see how ITV approach their new challenge.

Native River put up a great performance in the Welsh Grand National under a typical Richard Johnson ride.  In other years, no doubt the horse would be favourite for the Cheltenham Gold Cup but at present we are blessed with jumping talent.  With Altior and Douvan among others, we have much to look forward to in 2017.

May all horses stay healthy and happy.
