A pleasing schooling morning

A very pleasing schooling morning with the majority of the string having some jumping practise.  Ian Popham and Danny Hiskett did an excellent job and we look forward to their hard work being rewarded on the racecourse.

Arctic Chief is entered at Stratford on Saturday but we are hoping there won’t be too much rain.

Today’s horses for your Five to Follow entry are:

Stoney Cross has only recently joined us.  She is a five-year-old by Sulamani and is a homebred of Sue Welch’s.  she comes from one of Sue’s great families and she is a half-sister to the very useful Stoney Treasure amongst others.  Hopefully she will carry on the family tradition and we look forward to running her in a bumper before Christmas before she goes hurdling.

Timetobenefit was purchased having won a point to point in Ireland.  Although not the the biggest, she jumps very well and showed promise in her first hurdle after which she had a niggly problem which has kept her off the course.  She is now back working well and we look forward to getting her back on the track in November.  Two and a half miles plus should suit her well and she should certainly jump a fence in the future.

Totterdown showed promise in the spring before sustaining a stress fracture in his canon bone.  He has recently returned to the yard and is now back working well.  A keen type, he will start off in a bumper in November before going hurdling.  He is an extremely athletic horse who jumps very well and we look forward to him rewarding the patience of his enthusiastic owners, Fairford Goes Racing
