Off to Kempton with Arctic Chief
Off to Kempton today to saddle Arctic Chief in the 5.50pm. He showed great promise on his previous run at the track and although once again this is a hot contest, hopefully he will prove he has a future on the flat.
Having had a wind operation in the past, he cannot cope with soft ground and it will be interesting to see what jockey Rab Havlin has to say about him, having no doubt ridden his sire Sleeping Indian in the past at John Gosdens.
Yesterday it was good to welcome The Adlestrop Experience to the yard to celebrate Muthabir’s victory at Kempton before Christmas.
Following a glass of champagne at the stables, we had a delicious roast beef lunch at the Horse & Groom in Upper Oddington. Muthabir is too consistent for his own good but hopefully the handicapper will give him another chance of victory soon.
Decided not to go to Taunton tomorrow with Totterdown or Bella’s Vision and will wait until later in the week.
We made some entries for the weekend and also have some interesting prospects for next week.
Delighted to welcome three two-year-olds to the yard this morning. All are fillies and Helmet, Canford Cliffs and Dandy Man are their sires. We look forward to them showing some early ability.
Delighted that Alastair Down has agreed to join John Francome on our panel for our Cheltenham Preview evening on 5th March. If you have not already booked your tickets, please do so asap. It promises to be a very formative and entertaining evening.
