Monday 9th January

Three runners at Doncaster today with Lucky Thirteen running very well to come second in the handicap hurdle with Danny Hiskett onboard.

He appreciated the step up in trip as well as the cheek pieces, and was prominent for much of the race.  He stayed on well up the straight and will hopefully reward Brighton goal keeper, David Stockdale for his patience.

Next Lot ran in the same race but once again pulled to hard.  We will put a hood on him next time to see if it relaxes him.  He travelled well until three out, then stayed on and is a chaser in the making.

Western Storm ran in the two mile novice hurdle and jumped well on his debut and will appreciate a further trip in time.

Viva Rafa got stuck in the mud at Fontwell yesterday and hopefully the handicapper will act accordingly, as he has been far too consistent for his own good in the past.

It was good to welcome visitors to a busy gallop morning on Saturday, with owners Mike Barrett and Keith Gilbert in attendance.

Mike brought his son Charlie to ride out.  Charlie is a very accomplished rider and is a stunt rider on Game of Thrones, as well as many other films and therefore found the work morning in Adlestrop a more relaxing occupation.
