Very frustrating weather at present with Wetherby being called off on Saturday, therefore Mrs Barnes was unable to run.  She is entered at Doncaster on Thursday but with a cold forecast it’s impossible to plan too much.

We have declared Robin Des Smoke for Ludlow on Wednesday however there is an inspection tomorrow morning.  The maiden hurdle looks a hot contest with sixteen runners and she is the only mare in the field.  Having won a point-to-point in Ireland, she showed promise until two out at Doncaster in recent bumper and hopefully a trip over hurdles will suit.  She jumps very well at home and Danny Hiskett rides.

We have several entries for later in the week but the forecast is not good and let us hope the weather is not as bad as predicted.

Once again a fantastic weekend of racing with Native River and Dicky Johnson warming our hearts with a typically game victory at Sandown on Saturday.

The Dublin Festival has been a wonderful inclusion in the racing calendar and Willie Mullins had an outstanding tally of nine winners including six Grade One victories.

There were so many impressive performances including the bumper winner Kilcruit.  The son of Stowaway romped home and was bred by surely racing’s greatest broodmare, Maureen Mullins – mother of Willie and grandmother of Patrick.  It looks as though she is responsible for yet another star.
