Very pleasing runs from both Present From Dubai and Methodtothemagic over the weekend.  Present From Dubai (pictured) ran a very pleasing third behind a well-handicapped favourite at Ffos Las on Saturday evening.  He would benefit from some softer ground and now he has learned to settle, a step up in trip will also suit.

He will now have a little holiday before hopefully continuing to give his owners, The Hopeful Travellers – some fun and success from the autumn onwards.

Methodtothemagic made a very pleasing hurdling debut at Uttoxeter yesterday.  Although on the keen side, she made good ground in the straight to be a staying on third in what looked a competitive mares novice.  She would ideally need a bit more give in the ground and will get three miles eventually and has the size and scope of a chaser.  Hopefully she will repay her owner’s patience.

Delighted to attend the Carbine Club’s syndicate evening at Sandown on Thursday.  A wonderful evening of racing.  It was great to see Henry de Bromhead there who’s run of success continues with the impressive mare, Lismore winning the Henry VII.

Course Chairman Peter Jensen, who is also President of the Carbine Club of London – organised a memorable night.  We look forward to the Carbine Club’s next syndicate horse with great anticipation.

The following day it was good to join the Club for their annual golf tournament at the Royal Mid Surrey.  Ably organised by Carbine Club member Peter Cozens, it is always a fun event and much to the surprise of many, yours truly came home with the trophy.

Having only played nine holes in the last nine months, I am obviously best fresh.

Summer seems to have finally arrived in Adlestrop and it’s great to have the opportunity to turn out many of the string for their summer holidays now the grass has grown.
